We are working on fixing up this 2013 Tesla Model S, but no matter what we try, we can’t get a computer to connect to it!

We tried THREE different laptops. Tesla’s Toolbox software is Chrome browser based. You need to log-in and pay to use it. My brother Rob thought that he would be clever and log in to the Great Britain version of the Tesla web page. Over there, you can buy as little as an hour of the use of the software, much less expensive than a 1-Day access rate.
But in that time, we couldn’t even get a computer to connect the software to the car! It doesn’t give a helpful error or anything Toolbox just didn’t connect!

Keep in mind that the cable for the S/X is different than that for the 3/Y.
The cable connects to a port in the car behind a panel in the dash which is covered when the driver’s side door is closed.
We reached out to a Third Party Repair person who Rob knew and had him remotely control our laptop and use his login on Toolbox. He spent a good our with us on speakerphone and controlling the computer, but he wasn’t able to get it to connect either!!!
Needless to say, I am NOT happy with cars and computers right now!!!!
