First, Toyota’s most noticeable change is the exterior. The car inherits the monoform style of the previous models but owns a longer wheelbase, lower center of gravity, and standard 19-inch wheels. This design has similarities with Toyota’s new Crown model, especially the LED headlights at the front and the LED strip stretching along the rear bonnet.

The new Prius rides on Toyota’s second-generation TNGA platform, with a MacPherson strut at the front and a double wishbone at the rear. Toyota also says the platform is not only stiffer than the previous model but also improves cornering response and straight-line stability.

Two powertrains have been announced in Japan. The first powertrain includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a lithium-ion battery to produce a total of 220 hp. There are no specific figures, but Toyota claims this version has 50% more EV driving range than the previous version. The second powertrain uses Toyota’s parallel hybrid system with a capacity of 1.8 or 2.0 liters and a maximum capacity of 193 horsepower. It also has E-Four all-wheel drive for improved performance on low-friction surfaces and cornering stability.

In addition, the 2023 Prius also has several safety features, such as the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense which includes a front monocular camera, a rear camera for the digital mirror, and an in-car recorder. The car is also equipped with the standard Toyota Teammate system. One of its standout features is Toyota Safety Sense, which allows users to remotely control the vehicle to pick up and park the vehicle.

The Japanese automaker also equips its new vehicle with two auxiliary power outlets with a capacity of 100 VAC/1,500 W. The BEV external power source only draws energy from the battery, while the HEV source recharges it. battery from the motor if the remaining power is too low.

In addition to air conditioning and other functions, the solar charger also provides energy allowing the vehicle to travel up to 1,250 km per year. When the vehicle is not in use, electricity is generated to charge the drive battery.

The interior is also a radical departure from previous Prius models. On the dashboard is a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. The shape of the control panel is also completely new, integrated with a warning system about dangerous objects through a system of flashing lights around.
