In the market for a home EVSE for your electric car? If ample power and solid build quality are top of your list, the 40 amp Topdon PulseQ charger might just be the option for you.

Our review of the new home EV charger from Topdon walks through unboxing, a brief RTFM moment, and a performance test on the Tesla Model 3 and our 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5. The Model 3 is typically charged using a 32A Tesla Mobile Connector, so we compare the two to see how much time 40A would save us over a couple of hours charging.

While the PulseQ home charger sits in the usual $600-$700 price bracket for this power level, Topdon is currently running a $100 post-installation credit on the product.
