After experiencing the low coolant issues in our 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric 38kWh (see https://youtu.be/CUs-YoGTMlw), it went into the Hyundai dealer for the coolant recall. This video is an update following that recall where the cooling system was flushed and coolant replaced.
Hyundai have a recall currently ongoing to replace the coolant in Ioniq 38kWh vehicles. These use an "electric vehicle battery coolant" called BSC-1. It’s basically a low conductivity coolant. Hyundai are now replacing this with a BSC-2 coolant following many owners experiencing a drop in coolant level which has been found to be caused by the BSC-1 crystallising up within the battery pack.
