If you’re one of our electrifying regulars, it will not have gone unnoticed that over the last fours years Nicki Shields has been pregnant on an almost permanent basis. There were two benefits to this: firstly, she now has three relatively (her own words) cute and equally mad children. And secondly, but most importantly, she now has the full squad required to test out the best family electric cars out there!
Most recently she was fortunate enough to do a long tern test with a car in a segment that is a bit of a rarity when it comes to electric cars, a mid-range electric estate – the Peugeot 308 SW.
Although the SUV has now become the default choice for families on the move, there was a time when an estate was the only way to go.
Then there’s Nicola, whose back seat usually reverberates to the sounds of her two dachshunds kicking off. They’re just as bad at leaving crumbs on the seats, but are a little easier to get in and out.
In this long term update video, Nicki and Nicola compare notes about their time with the E-308. Is it really a practical alternative to an SUV? How does it cope with a full roster of passengers on a regular basis? Is its 54kWh battery and 254 mile WLTP range good enough for a family on the move?
