The most elegant Porsche ever built has to be the Porsche 356 and this beautiful RHD example has gone electric. We’ve converted this Porsche 356A using a 30kWh battery pack split 40/60 front to back between 2 packs, to optimise the weight distribution and handling. This gives a range of 100-120 miles driving normally in the hills of Wales. The motor is a Hyper9 which provides 120hp and 235Nm of torque, plenty enough for a little car like this, especially as it’s bolted to the original gearbox which provides the driver with that classic car feel to the drive.
Brakes are upgraded with discs all around from CSP, which vastly improves the braking on this 1950’s car, which used to have drums all around. Wheels are slightly wider 5.5" units now, shod with slightly lower profile tyres. On the front suspension we’ve also installed a HD anti-roll bar to help with the handling around the corners.
Interior has been retrimmed and fitted with some period looking bucket seats which are not only a lot lighter than the originals but also provide some much needed lateral support now it goes around bends as if it’s on rails. It’s also got a modern stereo with features like blue-tooth and hands free but it’s all packed into a period classic look.
Altogether this is the fastest, best handling Porsche 356 I’ve ever driven and puts a massive smile on my face every time I drive it.
