Tesla V2L Testing

I’m testing out a semi-custom inverter connected to the 400VDC system of a 2013 Tesla Model S. The inverter is a bare board I ordered from Aliexpress and then added DC input fuses, an AC output breaker, and cooling fans and mounted in a repurposed old project case…. which just happened to be from an old dead 48V inverter somebody gave me. The case is just a little smaller than a Tesla charger, so it fits right under the seat cage.

The inverter is located where a secondary battery charger would be. Since this car is set up to have an OPTIONAL second charger, I’m essentially using those connections and to instead go to the inverter.

The inverter is adjustable between 240VAC down to 120VAC with a potentiometer on the board. I have it set to 60hz 120VAC output. For now, the output just goes to a short extension cord into the backseat foot area of the car.
