We’ve been gifted a Porsche 928 S4, which at the time it was released, was one of the quickest production cars money could buy with a max speed of over 170 mph. Unfortunately this 928 had a blown engine and gearbox and needed a little bodywork when it was so generously given to us to see what magic we could sprinkle on it.
The plan is to give it a new lease of life for the 21st century with an electric conversion and at the same time see if we can’t improve on that original top speed of 171 mph. To have any hope of achieving this, the first thing we need to do is put it on a diet and see what our starting weight is going to be. From there we can then figure out what motor and battery combo we can shoehorn in there. The go to motor for big power at an affordable price is of course, Tesla, but will it fit?
Join us on this new build series as we see if we can build a cheap electric supercar out of an 80s iconic classic car.
