Teslas are prone to frozen door handles in the winter and also due to the frameless windows, you have to take extra care when opening a frozen door as some owners are breaking their window glass. This is because a frameless door requires the window to drop down when it is being opened or closed. If glass is frozen and not moving and then the door is opened or shut, the glass hits the window trim or frozen door seals which are less flexible in the cold and the glass can crack or smash. A repair at a Tesla Service centre can be up to £600.
You can stop the windows freezing against the rubbers by using a rubber care or lubricant like Gummi-pflege. This will make it much easier to access the car on a cold frozen morning and reduce the chance of breaking the glass.
