Ginny loves the 1980s – especially some of the mad hot hatchbacks which were built for rallying. Renault has decided it’s going to revive this crazy concept with the % Turbo 3E. This car is clearly a direct descendant of a couple of the wildest cars ever made – the Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 which were built in the early 1980s.
Underneath its retro shell lies an absolute beast: 540 horsepower from a revolutionary pair of in-wheel motors fitted to its rear 20 inch wheels which produce an insane 4,800 Nm of torque, It will be fitted with dedicated drift-assist tech and rally-style vertical handbrake and it has a carbon fibre chassis – helping keep the weight down.
0-60 will take under 3.5 seconds putting it firmly in supercar territory.
