There are three main types of adapters when you’re out fast charging an electric vehicle.

Here are the options currently used to charge the Model Y (Tesla Connector) and Hyundai IONIQ 5 (CCS1) on their alternative plug types:

– EV Base CCS1-to-Tesla adapter (link below)
– Superchargers with "Magic Dock (use Chargeway to locate)
– Tesla/NACS-to-CCS1 adapter (available for Ford/Rivian EVs, coming later this year for other OEMs)

Magic Dock rollout continues and NEVI sites will add to numbers, with 67 Superchargers in the US and Canada currently offering the built-in adapter (April 2024).

Even for Tesla owners, Superchargers aren’t everywhere and our family has found this adapter helpful off the beaten track in North Carolina: https://evbase.biz/42ZoHBX. If it works for your charging needs, use code " PPEV20" to get 20% of at checkout.

Full video coming this week and more Supercharger adapter coverage once Hyundai is on deck to receive one.
