Britain’s Cheapest Boxster Project part 3 // Mending the convertible roof mechanism. In this third project car update video, Jonny Smith’s £1900 Boxster (Britain’s cheapest?) gets its roof mechanism fixed, and the reason for water ingress is finally diagnosed – all thanks to the team at Car Hoods Northern in Cheshire (https://carhoodsnorthern.co.uk/). This 986 Boxster hasn’t been crashed, stolen and painted, although it was owned by Alex Kerston, previously from @CarThrottle and now @AutoAlex.

Thanks for stopping by The Late Brake Show.

Jonny also replaces the wheels with better OEM items, and a mystery misfire is resolved with new coil packs. Is the 986 Boxster still a criminally cheap gateway drug into flat six Porsches? Hell yes.

Hopefully this video goes to show that you can buy, diagnose and maintain/repair a real Porsche modern classic on a sensible budget.
