In this video I look at how I went about choosing the first car for my 17 year old daughter to learn to drive in. With insurance being so expensive now, this primarily led the way to choosing a Hyundai i10 1.0 ltr petrol, which is in the group 1 insurance category.
Since filming this, we’ve now got her first learners/provisional car insurance policy which cost only £214 for the year, from https://www.collingwood.co.uk/annual-learner-driver-insurance/. This is a policy in my daughter’s name, with myself, Dad, as an additional named driver. Obviously the insurance will be much more expensive once she passes her test. But for the initial provisional policy, I thought that was very reasonable. But as the Hyundai i10 1.0 is in group 1 insurance, when she does past her test, the premium will be as low as possible.
