BYD are the largest manufacturers of Li-ion phosphate battery packs in the world, and they’ve sold 3.5 million cars in native China and Eastern territories already. Because of this the BYD boasts some unusual battery cell tech, as well as highly efficient heat pump and compact packaged drivetrain (which BYD makes all in-house). Should Kia, Hyundai, VW and Stellantis be worried?
