So after some back and forth with the Engineer, and with looking at many fabrication methods to get the hump in place, in the end it was a bunch of cut and welds.
Getting a pipe bender to physically bend 50x75x5mm RHS meant that I’d need somewhere around a 100t bender, and I have a 12t….100t benders aren’t exactly cheap.
So I had options, I could pizza cut the pipe, and then bend it and have 6 or more welds along each bend, or I just straight bevel cut it and add some reinforcing plates of 3mm steel on the outside.
Well, I have 2m² of 3mm sheet metal, and even with all this, I’m gonna use maybe 1m² of it, so that was the path.
