As a follow-up to our 1,000km Challenge video — watch that one here: https://youtu.be/gOhHqAtlQJU — we return to Coffee + Kilowatts to cover a potentially tasty topic: have EVs already caught gas cars in terms of long-distance travel capabilities?
We look at the results of our trip, how much further we could have gone on that drive day, and how that compares to a combustion car. Range and charging speed are key aspects, of course, but the reality of trips over hundreds of miles and how much the human body can hold in also have to be considered.
As always, the goal is to foster conversation and discuss the pros and cons of the premise, so leave your thoughts in the comments (and if you’re new to the channel/feeling feisty, do please channel your inner Socrates to argue the idea, not the individual!)
So what do you think: have electric cars caught their gas counterparts or do we still have a ways to go when it comes to traveling across these United States?
