In this video, I look at the active air flow system on the Hyundai Ioniq Electric. In this case a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric 38kWh Premium SE. The previous generation Ioniq with the 28kWh battery had an air cooled battery pack. But the 38kWh model added a water cooled back with an active air flow system in the front grille to allow for more air flow and increased cooling when necessary.
The front active flaps rarely open and I’ve never seen an Ioniq with these open. So in this video, I give you a demonstration of how they work and what it looks like.
