DO THIS FIRST after buying a used Rivian R1S or R1T to protect your privacy and your new vehicle. I can take Rivian 7-10 business days to transfer ownership to you after you purchase a used Rivian R1S or R1T vehicle. During this time, the previous owner will be able to access the vehicle via the Rivian mobile app. This allows the previous owner to do things like lock/unlock the vehicle, adjust climate settings, and track the location of the vehicle. In this video I show you have to prevent this while your waiting for Rivian to transfer the ownership to you.
NOTE: Since Rivian has not published exactly what is disabled/changed when the vehicle is put into service mode, we do not recommend enabling service mode at this time. If you enable service mode on your R1S or R1T you do so at your own risk.
