Driving An Electric Car Through A Flood
When it comes to driving through the flood water, the usual rules apply. You should never drive through a flood.
Electric cars can handle floods, but you should avoid them if possible.
Electric cars safety systems and battery packs are tested, well-sealed, insulated, watertight for your protection and to withstand extreme weather like heavy rain and flooding.
If an electric car found itself submerged, the circuit breakers are designed to trip, and shuts down the power to minimize the likelihood of an electrical hazard to its occupants, bystanders, or passing fish.
However, a damaged electric car could become highly hazardous if flooded. Not all cars are the same, that’s why it’s always best to choose from reliable brands.
