Electric van delivery Part 2: Driving the Citroen Berlingo 22kWh electric van

In this video, I’m delivering a Toyota Proace 50kWh electric van to its new owner and then returning in a Citroen Berlingo 22kWh electric van. The video ended up being very long, so is split into two parts. This Part 2 video is the drive back in the Berlingo electric van, with what ended up being a long drive with repeated charging failures.
On route I charged at a Shell Recharge DC rapid charger, which worked fine, although I did have to wait as it was being used when I turned up. The Shell petrol station had only one charger, yet it was on a busy dual carriage way. I experienced two InstaVolt sites where I could not get a charge. One seemed to be an issue with taking payment, the other seemed to be an issue with Chademo communications with the vehicle. Both these failures caused considerable delays and aggravation, which ended up with nearly running out of range. With only 1 mile of range showing, I managed to drive nearly 4 miles (most of which was in turtle mode) to the next nearest DC rapid charger. This final charger, an Osprey unit was faultless which has always been my experience of Osprey chargers. There was also two DC rapid chargers at this site, a pub car park.
Anyway, I got back without running out or getting stranded, but the journey did take far longer than it should have and this was simply due to the reliability of the chargers. Its not the lack of chargers which is the issue, its the reliability which is letting the UK charging infrastructure down.
