What is regen braking in a EV? In this video I explain that regen braking is just the equivalent of engine braking in an EV and it has nothing to do with the actual brakes. I demonstrate how it works and how you drive an EV. I take a Hyundai Ioniq Electric (a 2020 38kWh model) out for a drive, show the display and controls and also try to find its maximum regeneration rate while driving down a steep hill.
