The best way to get drivers to go electric is to give test drives! When you sit in a modern EV you realize it’s a car like any other, only quicker, more fun, safer, and cheaper to run. My first drive in 2018 changed my idea of what a car was and could be.
Recharge St. Cloud EV Expo was a great opportunity to get, "butts in seats," with EVs and talk to dealers and real owners about making the switch to an electric vehicle. I had a chance to interview a few of the participants, see the great variety of cars, and give around 12 test drives over 4 hours. All in all, they had about 300-400 attendees; over 140 EV experiences through test drives. In combination with the completed event passports from attendees, we were able to unlock a full $10,000 donation to VEX MN Robotics.
Thanks to everyone who talked with me, gave test drives, or took one. I really love these events, and it’s great to see so many owners willing to share, and so many drivers serious about making a change with their next vehicle.
