It’s true, due to the increased energy consumption for heating, electric vehicles do have a reduced range in the cold weather. But then you soon get used to that and for the vast majority of the time it is not a problem whatsoever, if you can charge your EV at night. But one huge benefit of an EV is the instant heat of the electric heater and the pre-conditioning function where you can automatically warm (or cool) the vehicle at a set time or use the mobile app to remotely activate the heating. No more scrapping the ice off the windows in the winter and also no poisoning the air running the engine at tick-over.
