Felling Two Standing Dead Ash Trees

Just a personal recording of cutting down two dead Ash trees in my backyard. Video was mostly for in case something went wrong or analyzing afterwards.
Both trees are about 16" in diameter and 40+’ tall.
Cut using my Ryobi 14" 40V chain saw.

Rope was only for controlling against the tree going a direction we didn’t want it to. The first tree landed almost exactly where we wanted it. For the second one, it had a heavy lean. We knew which way it was most likely to go. We tried to angle it over more based on the cut we used, but it was really just going to fall the direction it was leaning. The main thing was for it to fall AWAY from the shed and garage, which you can see a tiny bit of in the right hand side of the image.

Both trees fell cleanly and safely.

Bringing down the dead trees prevents future uncontrolled downing by a wind storm (and having it possibly land on my building,) and also helps open up the back yard for solar panels and gardening.
