The Fiat Panda has been a runaway success, especially in Italy, where it’s as common as espresso. Now, Fiat is taking things up a notch with the Grande Panda – the first of an entire Panda family set to arrive by 2027, including a city car, an SUV, a coupé, and even a mini-MPV.
This is no ordinary Panda. At 3.99 metres long, it’s 30cm longer than the outgoing petrol model. It shares its underpinnings with the Citroën e-C3, keeping costs down while offering 195 miles of range from a 44kWh battery and 100kW DC fast charging.
A standout feature is the tethered spiral charging cable, housed in a special front hatch. No more lugging a dirty cable around in the boot – just plug in and go!
At under £22,000, the Grande Panda is priced identically to the e-C3, making it a seriously affordable electric option. It’s officially rated at 4.4 miles per kWh, but its boxy shape and 111bhp motor may impact real-world efficiency.
