At the beginning of October 2024, Tesla announced that it was ending free Spotify in their cars from 1st December 2024. A free in car only Spotify account has always been included with Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription.
From December, to continue to use Spotify in a Tesla, you have to have a Spotify account and choose either the free version (with adverts) or a paid subscription.
This video is just an update on the processes and to show that your Spotify favourites do port over if you create a Spotify account in the car, just by entering an email address. I did this and nothing else and for a few days I continued with ad-free Spotify. But now I’m getting adverts and clearly my account has been dropped back to a free version. Already the adverts are annoying me, so I’m going to subscribe!
This video was filmed on 4th December 2024.
