Praga is a 115-year-old car company based in the Czech Republic that manufactures go-karts, racing cars, and even airplanes. With the launch of the €1.28m / £1.1m (+ taxes) Praga Bohema supercar, the automaker set its ambitions to enter the street supercar segment.

The car is equipped with a V6 engine block and a 3.8L capacity twin turbocharger of the sports car Nissan GT-R. British engineering company Litchfield has tweaked this engine block, reducing the overall height to 13.97 cm. This lowers the internal engine compartment and prevents the risk of oil spilling when cornering at high speeds.

The twin turbochargers have also been tweaked to help the engine produce up to 700 hp at 6,800 rpm and 726 Nm of torque between 3,000-6,000 rpm. Previously, Litchfield was also responsible for the production of Nissan GT-Rs with more than 1,000 horsepower.

Praga has chosen to install a Hewland sequential transmission via a robotic clutch for semi-automatic driving. The Czech automaker says that Bohema is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in less than 2.3 seconds, before reaching a maximum speed of 299.3 km / h.

The total dry weight of the vehicle is 982 kg. With a bold aerodynamic design, this model has a downforce of up to 900kg at a speed of 249.5km/h. Both the engine and transmission are mounted independently of the carbon fiber monocoque chassis to eliminate resonances and low-frequency vibrations.

Praga worked with former F1 driver Romain Grosjean to make some additional adjustments to achieve the best GT3 lap times.
“I was astonished by the Bohema’s amazing performance on the track, its accessibility on road, and the ease of transition between the two. Praga has truly delivered on my challenge! You can also experience a smooth ride because the car is equipped with excellent shock absorbers," he said.

Bohema is like other racing cars. The car uses a horizontally mounted push-button-operated adjustable shock absorber, linked to a set of 18-inch center-locking wheels at the front and 19-inch at the rear, and comes with 6-piston calipers and disc brakes. lightweight carbon-ceramic, size 380mm.

The interior has two seats with quite narrow but aerodynamic space, while the luggage space is spacious. The seats are upholstered in Alcantara leather. A hexagonal steering wheel with buttons on each side to control the turn signals, headlights, and horn, with a digital display in the center, but no infotainment system.

Bohema’s development continues with trials in various racetracks in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and the Slovakian belt. Production is expected to begin by the end of next year, but only 10 cars will hit the market. The Czech automaker estimates that in the next four years, 20 cars will be hand-assembled each year, with a limited production run of 89 units.
