Getting a home charger installed is a brilliant way of making the most out of your electric car. If you’ve watched other videos in this section, you’ll know that a home charger is much faster than a normal plug socket and gives you complete control over when your car charges up. It can even pay for itself by making the most of cheaper overnight electricity.
Today, we’re looking at the installation process with EVIOS and within a few hours – we’ll be able to plug our lovely Citroen eC4X in and start charging.
The first thing the installer will discuss with you is where you want your charger positioned. Next they will run a cable directly from your fusebox or consumer unit, to where the charger is going to be fitted. This is where the main electricity feed from outside enters your property.
If your fusebox is a long way from where you want your charger fitted, you’ll need to discuss where the cable goes with your installer.
