How to replace or upgrade the headlight bulbs in a Hyundai Ioniq EV 2016-2019

The Hyundai Ioniq Electric 28kWh has either a type A or type B headlight. The type A headlight has both halogen low and high beams. The type B has LED low beam and a halogen high beam. In the UK, all Ioniq Electrics get the type B headlight. So the only bulb you can change is the high beam bulb. The bulb is a 9005HL+ 60W, which is more commonly referred to as a HB3 in the UK. The "HL+" means it is a long life bulb, which means the light output isn’t the best. You can upgrade this by fitting a higher output bulb, but while still keeping it a halogen 60W bulb. One of the best is the Osram Night Breaker Laser bulbs.
You can buy them on Amazon here https://amzn.to/3XyaE1R

The light output of these bulbs will be noticeably better than the original long life bulbs.
I’ve made videos in the past on these, when I used them in my MG ZS EV, see https://youtu.be/7nB2iznQjWk and https://youtu.be/0YbRezOHIso.
