In this video I show how to setup a timed charging schedule and how to use the pre-conditioning in a Nissan E-NV200 electric van. In this instance, I’m using a 2022 Nissan E-NV200 Acenta 40kWh model.
The charging timer in the van can be used to delay the charging to a set time. However, it has limited functionality and only has a start time with no stop time. In many cases that doesn’t matter. But with most wall chargers now being "smart", it is better to setup the scheduling within the wall charger rather than within the van. You can then make the schedule match your electricity tariff to stop any peak rate consumption. But if you’re using climate pre-conditioning, it is worth allowing some peak rate electricity usage for this, so adjust your scheduling in the charger to allow for this.
Setting up pre-conditioning in the ENV200 is better as it incorporates days of the week in the timer. You also have the option to manually trigger the climate from the key while the vehicle remains locked.

After watching this back, I realised at 01:15 I made a mistake when talking about how the buttons work. The function of both buttons changes depending on what menu you’re in. That’s why the menus are so awkward to use.
