In this video I do a software update in our 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric 38kWh. The process is similar in all Hyundai vehicles. The update not only fix bugs but also updates the sat nav mapping as well as the operating system in the head unit and can change the graphics and layout too.
Many wrongly assume that this gets done by the Hyundai dealer during a service. It’s not part of the service schedule and they will not do this unless you specifically ask for it and it will cost you about an hour’s worth of labour (about £150). However, you can do this yourself free of charge by following the steps in this video.
