Our first EV road trip in the new 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 (Limited AWD trim) takes us on a familiar route: from Boston, MA to Cleveland, OH via upstate New York and the NY Thruway.
As requested by the majority of viewers who voted in our recent poll, this one is split up into outbound and return journeys, with this first part focusing on efficiency, charging speed, and how quickly we can get across Mass. and New York state in a single day of travel.
We’ll save reflections on the #IONIQ5 itself, such as comfort, features, and driver assist tech, for another day. For now, take a look at what it’s like to road trip with an 800V architecture electric car and let us know whether you think it’s a game changer or overrated EV down in the comments!
