Main dealer servicing. Are they doing what you expect?

Do you get a better vehicle service from a main dealer or a local independent dealer? Most would assume that a main dealer is more trust worthy and while more expensive, they would be doing what you’re expecting. From my 8+ years experience in the motor trade and buying 3-5 year old ex-lease electric vehicles that have had main dealer servicing, I’m regularly finding that this is not the case.
From the hundreds of EVs I’ve seen, I would estimate that around ~70% have not had cabin filters changed when the invoices state otherwise and I’d estimate that more than 90% of vehicles have not had the brake fluid changed when its part of the scheduled service. This is more frustrating on an EV service, as the cabin filter and brake fluid are the only serviceable items on an EV and the rest of a scheduled service is just inspection of other components.
In this video, I highlight another example of main dealer servicing where the cabin filter has not changed, yet was invoiced for. In this case its in a Renault Kangoo ZE33 electric van that had a recent Renault main dealer service and not only had they not changed the cabin filter, it looks like they had tried, but left it in a mess where it could easily damage the heater box.
