Milwaukee M18 HD12 Batteries: FIX IT DON’T TRASH IT! SAVE $$$$$
Milwaukee M18 HD12 batteries are known to be temperamental and prone to failure, largely due to a poorly designed Battery Management System (BMS). Unlike the nearly "bulletproof" 5Ah batteries, the HD12 models have a range of issues, almost all related to the BMS.
The Solution? Replace the BMS! If your HD12 is out of warranty, don’t toss it. The lithium cells are high quality and reliable—it’s the BMS that’s the weak link. As shown in this video, the original circuitry often self-destructs or causes cell imbalance, killing the battery.
