So I finally decided to get up and go and start working on the motor mounts, which was a tad more challenging than I thought it would be, however the motor does end up sitting a lot higher than I wanted it to.
The EM57 is a far taller motor than the old 4G15P that I pulled out, that’s for sure!
However fabwise, this isn’t going to be such a bad job, just fiddly and annoying, but not overly complex.
Unfortunately one thing I never accouned for was the fact that I would need suspension preload on the subframe that could force the tyres into the ground. Now that I know, it seems like an obvious thing, ridiculously obvious. If the car spends all it’s time with no, essentially, preload on the tyres, then it’s gonna handle like crap when I hit bumps, and I’ll end up with the wheels hopping.
