There’s so much negativity towards electric vehicles, caused by lies in the media, which is designed to delay the uptake and keep us burning oil for longer. But of course, most EV drivers were previously combustion vehicle drivers and chose to drive an EV because they’re simply a better form of propulsion.
I have free lifetime Supercharging on my Tesla Model Y because it was transferred over from my previous old Model S. So I have almost zero running costs as 98% of my charging is done at Superchargers. However, all Tesla drivers can earn credits for free Supercharging and will also often get a free period of free Supercharging when they buy their car.
But typically EV drivers will charge their car at home overnight, while they sleep, using a cheap rate overnight electricity tariff. You then typically pay ~7p pkWh and it only costs around £150 a year to do 8,000 miles. Yes that is just two tanks of petrol!
