Over more than three years, the OPEVA project has focused on developing innovative solutions to support the wider adoption of electric vehicles, addressing key barriers such as range anxiety, high costs, limited charging infrastructure, and charging time. The project brought together 35 partners from 9 European countries, covering the entire electric mobility value chain, including Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, OEMs, research organisations, and technology providers. A key focus has been the development of advanced Battery Management Systems (BMS), integrating innovative wireless sensing technologies for enhanced monitoring, control, and performance optimisation.
The developed solutions were integrated into ALKE ATX4 electric vehicles and validated in real operating conditions, demonstrating their effectiveness in improving battery performance, system efficiency, and the overall usability of electric mobility.
