Most new cars do not have spare wheels and instead have a puncture repair kit. Some new cars, like Teslas, do not even have these. In this video, I attempt to explain what puncture repair kit you should carry in your vehicle and why the common tyre sealant may not be suitable for the tyres fitted to your EV.
It is now common that roadside recovery (e.g. AA, RAC etc) can take 5+ hours, so it’s better to not rely on them, especially if you get a puncture on a fast or dangerous road. It’s far better to carry the correct puncture repair kit (or a selection of kits) and try to get yourself mobile again. Even if that temporary repair is to only get you to the safety of the next services, exit off the motorway or to the nearest tyre garage. So in this video I go through what puncture repair products and tools I carry in my EV and what other options are available.
