In this video, we’re discussing Tesla Model 3 paint protection film, Tesla PPF install, and Model
3 ceramic coating. So today, we’re talking with my good friend Steven. For a hobby, he’s an
auto detailer and takes a lot of pride in detailing cars and getting them to look great, protecting
the paint and protecting the interior. He’s going take us step by step through the process of
what he did with his brand new, high performance, Tesla Model 3 to protect the paint and to
protect the interior.
If you’re not familiar, PPF stands for ‘paint protection film’ and is made by 3M or XPEL. PPF is a
clear, transparent coating that is form-fitted to the car’s (in this case, Tesla Model 3) exterior
surface. The purpose of this PPF application is to provide lifetime protection to the exterior
paint, drastically reducing the possibility of scratches and vandalism.
It may come as a shock to learn that a full Tesla PPF paint protection film install can cost
anywhere from $4000 up to $8000 USD, depending on what part of the country (or world) you
are in. And just a full front-end professional install alone can cost $1200 to $2000. However, if
you want to DIY your own Tesla Model 3 ceramic coating, you can buy a good quality pre-cut kit
for around $300 to $400.
