In this video I look at the tow hitch on a 2024 UK spec Tesla Model Y. At the time of filming, the tow hitch option was £1,090 when ordering the car new. However, Tesla can now fit the tow hitch to existing vehicles for £1,290. This previously wasn’t an option on Tesla vehicles as it had to be a factory fit only.
The tow hitch is described by Tesla as "High strength, Class II steel tow bar capable of towing up to 1,600 kg". There are many videos online showing the tow hitch, but the majority are for US vehicles and these use a different tow ball and socket. So this video may help people in the UK and Europe who are ordering a Tesla Model Y and wondering what you get with the tow hitch option.
