Tesla Road Trip on CCS - The House on the Rock

Can we do a two day road trip using only CCS infrastructure and the Electrify America network in our Tesla? I borrow John’s CCS to Tesla adapter again to find out if EA is reliable enough, or if we’ll have to bail out to the Supercharger network. How do the experiences compare and should you be concerned about buying a vehicle with only a CCS plug in 2022?

We test it all out while traveling to one of the craziest places in Wisconsin (and maybe the world), The House on the Rock. Of course we’ll do some car camping with Tesla’s Camp Mode and have some scenic drives along the way!

Note that although we generally had good charging with EA, we had to do this trip eastward because there still aren’t good fast charging stations in Minnesota heading west or north, and almost nothing in the Dakotas yet. Although there are plans for expansion, in the late summer of 2022 it can still be a CCS charging desert in the upper Midwest.
