Pilot is currently Honda’s largest and most powerful SUV model in the US market. To continue to maintain the attraction, the new 4th generation 2023 Honda Pilot has been launched. This is also the third new generation SUV that Honda launched in the US market this year, after the HR-V and CR-V.

Positioned higher than the CR-V, the 2023 Honda Pilot SUV model has a length of 5,077 – 5,085 mm, a width of 1,994 mm, a height of 1,800 – 1,829 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, varying by version. Compared to the 2023 Honda CR-V, this model has a longer wheelbase of 190 mm. In the 4th generation, Pilot is applied with an exterior design style quite similar to the 2023 Honda CR-V.

it is not an exaggeration to call the 2023 Honda Pilot an enlarged version of the CR-V. The similarity with the new generation CR-V is clearly shown through the front design of the 2023 Honda Pilot. Accordingly, this SUV is also equipped with a vertical front end with a large hexagonal grille. Inside this grille are honeycomb meshes similar to the 2023 Honda CR-V.

In the US market, the 2023 Honda Pilot has a total of 5 versions, including Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Elite. In particular, TrailSport is advertised as an off-road-ready version, so it has a more rigid chassis and a larger wheelbase.

The 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport also has a more aggressive appearance than the remaining versions. Accordingly, the car is painted in Diffused Sky Blue with black exterior details such as the splint on the top of the grille, air vent splint, rearview mirror cover, diameter line, and door handle. Add to that the 18-inch alloy wheels painted in gray, shod with Continental TerrainContact AT 265/60R18 tires as standard.

Inside the new-generation Pilot is an interior space that the company describes as "the most advanced among Honda SUVs ever". However, the interior design of this SUV is quite similar to its brothers of the same brand as the Honda CR-V, Civic, and HR-V.

In front of the driver are a 3-spoke steering wheel, integrated function keys, a 10.2-inch digital dashboard, and a 9-inch central touch screen on the most advanced version. This display supports standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, the vehicle’s navigation system is simplified to be neater and easier to use.

Thanks to its large size, the 2023 Honda Pilot can carry up to 8 people with a row of seats in the middle. If you do not need to carry many people, you can fold the middle position of the second row down to form a central armrest, which includes a cup holder. You can even remove the middle position of the second row of seats and store them in the floor compartment to create a way down to the rear.

the car is equipped with 8 standard airbags and Honda Sensing active safety equipment package with a wider 90-degree camera and 120-degree wide-angle radar. Blind spot warning system, low-speed brake control, driver assistance in traffic jams, traffic sign recognition, rear passenger warning, adaptive cruise control Lane keeping assist, and downhill assist are available on this model.

In particular, the TrailSport version also has a new TrailWatch system, which uses four exterior cameras to help the driver avoid obstacles in the blind spot. Underneath the bonnet of the Pilot 2023 is the Honda family’s most powerful engine. In addition, Honda also claims that this is one of the smoothest engines in the segment.

this SUV model uses a completely new 3.5L V6, DOHC, 24-valve gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 285 horsepower and maximum torque of 355 Nm. Compared to the old generation, the engine is only 5 horsepower more powerful.

The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and second-generation i-VTM4 torque-guided all-wheel drive. This drive system can send 70% of the torque to the rear wheel. The car has a total of 5 driving modes: Normal, Econ, Snow, Sport, and Tow. In particular, the Tow mode helps the car to have a towing capacity of up to 2,268 kg. Unfortunately, the price of the 2023 Honda Pilot has not been announced yet.
