The most difficult tire to create is arguably the all-terrain tire. In terms of the various styles of SUV & Truck tires, the all-terrain is a bit of a blend between a tire dedicated almost entirely for on-road driving and a tire dedicated almost entirely for off-road driving. With tires, specialization is the name of the game. It’s much easier to make tires that perform well for very specific scenarios, but the Dynapro AT2 Xtreme needs to do absolutely everything. It’s difficult to overstate how challenging this is. We’ll discuss the tire compound, tire structure, and tread design, to learn how to optimize a tire for all environments.
