The New 2023 MERCEDES-AMG S 63 E Performance in Plug-In Hybrid with 1055 Pound-Feet of Torque.
After more than two years after the launch of the new generation S-Class, Mercedes-Benz officially introduces the high-performance version Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance.
S 63 E Performance owns a design similar to the junior C 63 E Performance in the front bumper and air vents on both sides. These details can be upgraded with carbon fiber.
This is also the first time that the S 63 is fitted with the same standard Panamericana grille as other AMG high-performance models. S 63 E Performance is not equipped with a 3-pointed star logo on the bonnet. Replacing this detail is the signature logo of AMG.
The rear of the car retains the usual features found on AMG models such as a dual exhaust system, and a large diffuser, the logo of the model name is reversed.
New 2023 Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance retains the same 4.0 twin-turbo engine, V-8, and adds a permanently excited synchronous electric motor to create a huge capacity of 791 horsepower and 1055 pound-feet of torque.
The Mercedes-AMG S63 sedan can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds before reaching an electronically limited speed of nearly 180 mph. Particularly, the V8 engine has a capacity of 603 horsepower and maximum torque of 900 Nm, combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The electric motor is located on the rear axle combined with a two-speed gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The electric motor can reach 188 hp in up to 10 seconds, while the 94 hp remains constant.
The 13.1 kWh battery pack is located above the rear axle, giving the car a range of about 20 miles. According to Mercedes, the position of the electric motor and battery pack on the rear axle improves the weight distribution as well as the operating mode.
Sound on the new S63 plays through the speaker system in the cabin. In addition, the car also has a speaker system that warns pedestrians when approaching. When the battery is low, the car will switch to Comfort, balancing between the two systems. With the AMG Ride Control+ air suspension, the S63 can go from a comfortable, smooth sedan to a powerful sports car.
From the outside, the S63 is easily mistaken for the standard S-class. The interior design of the cabin prioritizes luxury, with high-quality materials for the seats and steering wheel. Infotainment systems and equipment are also typical of the AMG series.
Currently, the starting price of the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance has not been announced. Delivery of this model will begin at the end of 2023.
