The true running costs of our electric car, which does 14,500 miles per year

In this video I explain the real running costs of our Hyundai Ioniq EV, when charging at home. The car does around 14,500 miles per year, which is more than the UK average and we do all our charging at home overnight. The UK press would have to you believe that EVs now cost more than petrol and diesel cars to run, which they could if you do all your charging from expensive DC rapid chargers, but for the majority of EV drivers, this is not the case.
If you want to switch to Octopus and use their cheap rate overnight tariff for EV drivers, us this referral link and we’ll both get £50 (or £100 for business customers) – https://share.octopus.energy/storm-okapi-251
That £50 credit on your account will get you about 2,660 miles in a typical EV when charging at night on Octopus Go at 7.5p pkWh!
