True costs of running my EV for the last 2 months, while solely charging on public chargers

In this video I explain the real running costs of my Tesla Model S over the last two months when solely charging on public chargers. You’ll be surprised!
Normally I would charge from home, but following a recent move, I’ve not yet got Octopus Go enabled at the new house, for cheap rate night time charging. So while I’m waiting for that to be enabled again, I’ve charged solely on public charges for the last two months and have done 2,500 miles.

If you want to switch to Octopus and use their cheap rate overnight tariff for EV drivers, us this referral link and we’ll both get £50 (or £100 for business customers) – https://share.octopus.energy/storm-okapi-251
That £50 credit on your account will get you about 2,660 miles in a typical EV when charging at night on Octopus Go at 7.5p pkWh!

Since filming this video, I’ve now been put onto Octopus Go on 8th October 2022 at 7.5p pkWh night rate. Then on around 12th October, Octopus increased the Go rates for new contracts, to 12p pkWh at night. At 7.5p, £20 of night time charging would get you about 1,066 miles in an EV. At 12p, that reduces to 666 miles. Still considerably cheaper than an ICE vehicle where £20 will get you about 98 miles! Anyway, due to having Octopus Go again, I’m now doing the vast majority of my charging at home again.
