You know when you were younger and had to wait all year for Christmas to get the toy you wanted?
That’s basically what buying a new car used to be like 😭
Before 2001, UK number plates only changed once a year.
So everyone waited for August to get the newest plate possible because apparently nobody wanted to be caught driving a “brand new” car with last season’s plate.
The whole country basically treated August like new car Christmas.
