It is often said that you’ll be left stranded in a EV if you get stuck in winter or in a motorway/highway hold up because the heater will use up all your battery. I’ve even seen many people say "you’ll freeze to death in an electric vehicle if you get stuck in the snow". So in this video I test how long a small battery EV will keep running, with the heater on. I’m using a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq EV with a 28kWh battery, which is half the size of the battery of the majority of EVs.
