Tesla’s latest software update 2026.20 brings two small changes. New parental controls let you lock the Browser, Theatre Mode, and Arcade, and they’ve added dashcam clip encryption for extra privacy. I show exactly what the new features look like, how they work in the car, and why I personally turned the encryption off — I’ve got a PIN on the glovebox anyway and I regularly take the USB drive out to view footage on my laptop.
The vehicle in this video is a 2024 Tesla Model Y RWD (MCU3/Ryzen/HW3) with the 62.5kWh (60,5 kWh usable) LFP battery and at the time of filming this running on software version 2026.20.
This video was filmed in June 2026.

If you’re buying a new Tesla, use https://ts.la/conor263910 or enter "conor263910" as a referral code for a discount off your purchase of any Tesla vehicle or product. With certain types of new car finance, your credit will appear later in your account, which you can then use to spend at Tesla. This is my daughter & husband’s referral code so the free Supercharging credits go to them as they’ve just got their first EV, a 2022 Tesla Model 3.
