Car Road Trip Challenge – NO refuelling. In this road trip special episode of The Late Brake Show, Jonny Smith drives the new JAECOO 7 SHS (Super Hybrid System) family car that claims to have a WLTP range of 745 miles. Combining its 1.5 turbo petrol engine (60-litre fuel tank) and 18kWh battery pack, the flagship J7 can do up to 56 miles EV-only. When JAECOO challenged Jonny and other car content creators Paul Wallace, Emma Walsh and Archie Hamilton to drive from Eastbourne to Aberdeen without filling up on petrol or electricity – the winner arriving with the most range left – he buckled up and wanted to pile on the miles in order to get beneath the skin of this well priced new Chinese-made C-segment SUV.
